RE: Driveway cleaners

Today, I sold a twenty-year old vehicle that leaked oil and had been parked in my concrete driveway far too long.
Now we have to park another vehicle over that spot or find a way to clean-up the old grease and accumulated dirt.
What should I tell my wife to use?
Your wife should tell you to use Krud Killer Driveway Cleaner and Degreaser.

Also HomeDepot/Lowes both have a number of good choices for this job. If you have a pressure washer include that in the project.

RE: SYNTHETIC OIL FOR DIESEL

I went all the way to the end of the internet and back reading about this issue...I still don't know the answer, but I use it anyway because it makes me feel better and I guess that is worth something....:h

RE: buying gas

I've got close to a 30', when considering the hitch, and I had no problems filling up when we're on trips. You've just got to pick the places carefully or wait and fill up at a truck stop. When we're on a trip, and fuel level gets to ½ tank, we start looking for a place to top off the tank.
Good advice.
Also be mindful of the slope of the driveways in and out of the station to avoid bottoming out.
Relax, fueling up is all part of the adventure.

RE: Water Shut Off

When using the on board water tank we shut off the pump when we leave. If on shore water, we shut off the hose with one of these:
Returning to your rig to find water gushing out of the interior because a line or fitting broke loose will certainly ruin your day.

RE: Towing ball lubrication - Yes or No ?

Yes, greasing the hitch ball is a very good idea. This is what I use.

RE: Value of Enclosed/Heated underbelly

Others will disagree but having owned both un-enclosed and now enclosed I really don't think enclosed is a huge deal.
You said that you will not be using your trailer in the winter anyway. Some claim that enclosed tows better or gets better mileage..maybe but the difference is very slight if any.
I actually liked the fact that I could easily get to gas lines, plumbing, ect. easily with our unenclosed unit.
A floor plan that works for you is much more important than the belly.
Good luck with your choice.

RE: Frisco TX man says HOA won't let him park pickup on driveway

I can certainly understand why they don't allow FORDs. I'll bet that GMCs are ok...
Seriously, HOA can be problematic, especially for us RV'ers. As others have posted, one is wise to check these issues out carefully before signing on the line.

RE: wireless invisable fencing

The invisible fencing has its advantages and does work (after a training period) at keeping your dogs on your property. What it doesn't do is keep other dogs, coyotes, preditors, etc OFF your property.
If you are in an area where they may be a threat to your animals...only a good fence/kennel will work.

RE: Low point drain?

I would think that water should only come out of a valve IF you have opened that valve.
The "low point drains" should be kept closed and water should come out of them only when you have opened them to winterize your rig.
If I am understanding you question, I hope this helps.

RE: DONT DO THIS WHEN TOWING!

Very sad... Looks to be a very late model Duramax. Can you imagine the damage if that was salt water as well??
This is going to cost him...you have to pay for your mistakes.

RE: To Be Armed or Not

I guess I'm just stupid and way too trusting, but we don't go camping armed to the teeth - never in 30 years on the road have we had a problem.
Woops, I forgot. Once some folks walked through our site and a I remember someone didn't pick up after their dog. Maybe I should rethink this and get protected.

RE: Unknown Wires Found? What Are They For?

coolbreeze01,
On the inside by the door and next to the control panel box, there is a small switch panel with three switches. One controls a set of interior lights, another controls an exterior light, but I can't find what the third switch is for (the one closest to the door). It appears to do nothing and is a mystery? I've opened up the switch case itself, and there is wires going to it, but I'm at a loss. Do you recall what it is for?
PointyWombat
We have the same 3 switch panel on our Komfort. Here is what ours do:
interior lightsexterior light by the doorexterior lights one on the front cap, one high above the city water inlet
Hope this helps

RE: Fort Wilderness dog policy outrageous!!

Call again, my bet is that if you get a different person, you will get a different answer.
This has happened to us in the past. I didn't like how it worked out so I thanked them and hung up. Called about an hour later, got a different person and it worked out just fine.

RE: Ford PSD or GMC Duramax which one?

Being a former Expy owner I can assure you that you will be happy with either one. Both (new Fords) and the Duramax/Allison are rock solid. Moving from an Expedition as a tow vehicle to a diesel is an eye opening experience.
